11-24-20   THOUGHTS

It does my heart good to WONDER at the greatness of God!  In the Hebrew, the word wonder means wonderful, incomprehensible, extraordinary.  It looks to something beyond us!
Read the context of  Ps 139:6   [Such] knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is [too] high, I cannot attain to it.
It is my wondering that meditates on God’s awesome WONDERS!
Ps 89:5      The heavens will praise Your wonders, O LORD; Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.
Ps 119:18  Open my eyes, that I may behold Wonderful things from Your law.
Ps 119:27  Make me understand the way of Your precepts, So I will meditate on Your wonders.
Job 5:7-9    For man is born for trouble, As sparks fly upward. 8  "But as for me, I would seek God, And I would place my cause before God; 9  Who does great and unsearchable things, Wonders without number.

The Ark of the Covenant has been brought to Jerusalem.  Asaph gives thanks to God!
1Chron 16:8-15    Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples. 9  Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonders. 10  Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad.  11  Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually. 12  Remember His wonderful deeds which He has done, His marvels and the judgments from His mouth, 13  O seed of Israel His servant, Sons of Jacob, His chosen ones! 14  He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth. 15  Remember His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations,

Isa 9:6    For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Hab 1:5    "Look among the nations! Observe! Be astonished! Wonder! Because [I am] doing something in your days —  You would not believe if you were told.

The older I get, the more comfortable I become with WHAT I CANNOT KNOW!
Ps 31:14-15a    But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD, I say, "You are my God." 15  My times are in Your hand;

My Prayer:
We take comfort Oh God of all, that you are so far beyond us.  Your awesome being is in control, and we are at peace.  We wonder as we trust.  We see your might and power and order in all.  There is none like you.  Thank you for the wonder of Jesus Christ, his death, burial and resurrection.  Your grace, mercy and love is awesome toward us.  May we praise your name forever.          In the name of Jesus               Amen
